AMC FearFest
What is FearFest? In 1997, the AMC network launched Monsterfest, a popular week-long marathon of horror movies and thrillers that aired in late October. On September 26, 2008, AMC announced the launch of a new horror-themed movie marathon for its October schedule called “Fearfest” which replaced Monsterfest. Fear Fest typically runs from mid-October every year until Halloween (often the day after too) and in recent years has run throughout the entire month of October. In 2023 AMC ran a “Kickoff to FearFest” that began on September 25th.

I love Fearfest every year but…. As much as I love the Halloween series it’s way overdone! More variety is needed for sure. More Stephen King Less Halloween. There’s so much out there for great horror classics. There’s not even a full day of Friday the 13th this year! I hope the line up changes a little. If not what a disappointment! AMC you could do better with more variety. And like a previous poster said a full day of Final Destination? Come on!
Oh wow just frigging wow!!! NO Friday the 13th Part 2 or beyond. Just Part 1 1980 and the crappy reboot…. Flake off AMC there is no way !!! Just a terrible decision. Although the rights situation. I can’t see that was an issue…. I guess I’ll just watch them on DVD.
Halloween 🎃
Pretty Awesome need to play more Friday the 13th and Stephen King like Cugo.
Halloween 1,2,3,4, 5,6,7,8, or 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 – why does AMC Monster Fest confuse horror film with slasher trash? This is the worst line up of movies yet. Universal pictures made some very good horror films during the 30,s and 40,s and you’re not showing one. GORE is not what Halloween is about. Consult some of you viewers over the age of fifteen before creating next year’s Slasher Fest.
Past couple of years have been awful with the same classics. Where are the gore movies like the old wrong turn movies, newer Texas chainsaw, hills have eyes, rob zombie films, or even trick r treat? Nobody wants to just see Michael, freddy, & Jason all day everyday for a month.
Problem is there is NO Jason this year LOOOOOOL. Except for the remake crap which is just that. CRAP!!
I agree with you 100%, every year I hope for better and never get it! I love the old Wrong Turn , and Texas chainsaw, I love the zombie films too. This year actually depressed me, I’m done with AMC, any other stations with better choices? Let us know
I don’t get it ! Why so much Halloween?? It’s way better movies!! Give me a break, somebody at AMC must wanna see those films not US! We need more Jason and Freddy, not Micheal Myers you dummies. I’m finding another channel with better selections.
We need to start a petition or reach out to movie companies for AMC FearFest to have more variety so that way they should be able to get more movies to play next October.
is the full schedule out yet?
The full schedule can be seen on the AMC website at https://www.amc.com/schedule?tz=ET&from=2021-10-01
Halloween ends early on AMC as they pivot to Walking Dead shows at 8pm.
Just go to AMC on your pvr and fast forward the days…. but the schedule was not correct bc the crazies was slated after pet cemetery but the Dead zone is on. Which is a better choice anyway.
I think the line up is awesome it brings me back to a time b4 social networking and being a kid getting all my snacks ready for scary movie watching for the weekends and on top of that fact these are many classic movie I love oct and Halloween and am I die hard horror fan
I do still enjoying watching AMC leading up to Halloween. Something about watching these movies on cable has a certain vibe to streaming nowadays. I like how on a day off you can have horror movies on playing in the background. I agree that the movie selection is pretty lame though. I mean it’s obviously a joke to a real horror movie fan and the selection is really pretty cringey lol.
I Star November 10 2021 Wes Caven’s New Nightmare (1994) For 2hrs 30 min a.m.10:30-1:00-p.m. Star November 11 2021 Wes Caven’s New Nightmare (1994) for 2hrs 30 min a.m.7:00-9:30-a.m.
I’ve given up relying strictly on AMC for my Halloween horror viewing delights during the month of October, for a couple years now, but I think this lineup is horribly thin. I’d have never maintained an interest in horror if this was all their was in October. Also, I think AMC would be better off with the Wrong Turn series than the Final Destination movies.
Same Movies as the last who knows how many years. I also see almost every night after the 10:00 p.m. movie nothing scheduled. I agree AMC you could do better. I know it’s Halloween but how many times before Halloween do you need to show the Halloween movies. Especially since you will most likely show them on Halloween and the 3 days to a week before. Disappointing!
Totally agreed. AMC may not be permitted to show any other movies though. Throughout the year, you only see a handful of horror movies, and those movies are in the AMC Fearfest schedule. While it would be great for them to show some different movies, I just don’t believe they can. Doesn’t matter though, I will still have my TV set to AMC all of October. It’s the most wonderful time of the year
Yes networks just cannot show what they want, they need permission, that is why NOES (Other than the crappy remake) is played time after time. One thing I am shocked about is that Friday the 13th 2 and beyond isn’t shown earlier then what it is. The remake is alright but not the better of the entire series.
Let’s just hope from the 20th on there is somewhat a better finish!!
Any chance Trick R Treat makes the cut this year?
