AMC FearFest

4.5/5 - (605 votes)

What is FearFest? In 1997, the AMC network launched Monsterfest, a popular week-long marathon of horror movies and thrillers that aired in late October. On September 26, 2008, AMC announced the launch of a new horror-themed movie marathon for its October schedule called “Fearfest” which replaced Monsterfest.  Fear Fest typically runs from mid-October every year until Halloween (often the day after too) and in recent years has run throughout the entire month of October. In 2023 AMC ran a “Kickoff to FearFest” that began on September 25th.

Just saw NOES original 1984 won’t be shown for FF. This rights bull crap has become ridiculous.

    • You need to understand that networks cannot just show what they want, they have to have the rights. They are limited to what they show.

  • Oh… no… They’re going to do it again with the Halloween franchise playing 20 times in October. Love Michael but try to diversify. Jeepers Creepers, Universal classics, Scream, The Descent, Wrong Way, etc..

The Jaws series has been on AMC and other networks all year long. That is one series not nessesary for FF in my opinion.

    • You are nuts. I love the “Halloween” movies played on AMC like crazy throughout the month of October every year. I can’t wait to introduce my own kids to them someday. I look forward to those movies specifically every year and I don’t feel like the Halloween season is upon us until that franchise is all over the television during the month of October. The only movie in the franchise that I always skip is “The Season of the Witch” because I don’t like that one at all and I never have. The “Halloween” movies are played the most simply because it’s…HALLOWEEN season!

I’m sorry but Michael Myers is Halloween and AMC Has a great lineup with the exception of The Shining but I do understand it depends on the rights. If you don’t like the line up then don’t watch it. Your not being forced to but for me I’ve watched AMC fear fest from the beginning in 1997 & im a fan of the channel year round.

Good to see its all October long again. Here’s hoping AMC gets the rights to play more this year. The Funhouse would be great to see. All Friday the 13th movies. The original NOES not the crappy remake 8 million times. Time will tell as things get closer.
