AMC FearFest

4.5/5 - (638 votes)

What is FearFest? In 1997, the AMC network launched Monsterfest, a popular week-long marathon of horror movies and thrillers that aired in late October. On September 26, 2008, AMC announced the launch of a new horror-themed movie marathon for its October schedule called “Fearfest” which replaced Monsterfest.  Fear Fest typically runs from mid-October every year until Halloween (often the day after too) and in recent years has run throughout the entire month of October. In 2023 AMC ran a “Kickoff to FearFest” that began on September 25th.

    Sure HOPE That When AMC
Airs Hellraiser, It’ll Be I-IV; Bloodlines!
Maybe Even The 2022 Remake with

Every year, for the past 5 years, I do a 31 Days of Halloween (1 move a day for 31 Days in October). Usually it’s a combo of BluRays I buy, what’s on Fearfest, stuff on Freeform or perhaps something that may stand out on a streaming service for me (usually something from Disney + though). Last 2 years, AMC disappointed me and I only had like 2 moves from them to watch. This year, there’s a lot more.. I am happy for this and will continue this tradition for many more years to come!

You guys wanna hear something funny? This past summer I went and bought Halloween 2, I needed it anyway for my official collection and I just assumed AMC wouldn’t show it again, but here it is!! Looool. Although it will be watered down (Edited). So I’ll just watch my copy. Good to see a few more movies being shown again that weren’t in past years.

You’re not gonna do an all-day Jason marathon… on FRIDAY THE 13TH… IN OCTOBER?? Seriously, AMC? Big fail.

I love Halloween , and I love Fearfest but if AMC doesn’t show some movies I want to see I’ll just watch my own horror movie marathon from my own collection.

  • AMC will be “shocked by Shudder” this year and is making some changes to how they program FearFest this year – and will be expanding their selectiongs to their other channels like WETV, IFC, and BBC America. Additionally, Shudder programmers will be taking the lead but it does sound like more of the same on AMC, like years past.

  • I grew up on all the Halloweens it’s my favorite but I like all the conjurings of Stephen kings movies Honestly I don’t think the lineup is going to change much because u can watch all these same flix everywhere else it’s just fun to sit around with friends or family or just by urself to enjoy all of the movies but I do understand what every ones talking about but I doubt it might not change but who knows.
