AMC FearFest

4.5/5 - (638 votes)

What is FearFest? In 1997, the AMC network launched Monsterfest, a popular week-long marathon of horror movies and thrillers that aired in late October. On September 26, 2008, AMC announced the launch of a new horror-themed movie marathon for its October schedule called “Fearfest” which replaced Monsterfest.  Fear Fest typically runs from mid-October every year until Halloween (often the day after too) and in recent years has run throughout the entire month of October. In 2023 AMC ran a “Kickoff to FearFest” that began on September 25th.

Great marathon this year! I don’t mind having fearfest play 24/7 on the TV even as background noise. There were a ton new to the line up and some great ones missing (e.g. the Conjuring). Props to amc for commiting to the annual marathon. It won’t last forever so enjoy it while you can. Hopefully this introduce some newbies into the genre we love.

I really love “fear fest” in October every year but it seems it’s the same horror movies repeated. Of all the Friday the 13th ones, why keep showing the 2009 version? What about part 2-6 or something else.

Yes for some insane reason 1-8 are not on this year…. Very mind boggling.

  • What is the deal with Hellraiser 3 being in Spanish? I’m am Canadian and speak English and only understand English. There have also been other movies in foreign language. Very disappointing because they are good movies!

Exactly!!! I think we needed a marathon of those on Friday the 13th, not just the other ones.

Is it me or has the schedule changed a lot from this list? It shows at 8:15am to 10:30am for me central time today that Flight of the Living Dead is on, but the scheduled movie on AMC lineup on the tv says it is Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance.
Notice this a lot this year.

They’ve been changing it constantly this year, super frustrating to keep up with it. Sorry trying to keep it updated here.
