Disney Channel Monstober

4/5 - (320 votes)

What is Monstober? Monstober (previously named Disney Channel’s Hauntober Fest and later called Wiz-tober in 2008) was a nightly marathon of Halloween-related movies that debuted on October 1, 2005 on Disney Channel. In 2012, Wiz-tober was renamed Monstober to prepare for the Girl Vs. Monster premiere. Monstober officially ended after October 2016. Beginning in 2021, Disney Channel ran the “Calling All the Monsters” programming block during October, featuring various Halloween-themed TV specials and original movies. It is rumored that the Disney Channel will be re-launching the Monstober programming event in October 2024.

  • Very disappointed!! I have been looking forward to Halloween movies all year in Disney Channel. The selection is horrible. What happened to all the good movies that used to be played?

I am also EXTREMELY disappointed in Monstober this year. Why aren’t y’all playing the Halloweentown movies like y’all used to? Plus, the other good Halloween shows are playing at 3am. What kids are going to stay up to watch that during the week? I used to be able to took forward to watching fun Halloween movies on Disney Channel. Now, as someone else said, I will be watching more ABC Family for my Halloween fix, which says a lot. I just don’t understand what y’all are trying to accomplish or do by not playing the shows that y’all are famous for around Halloween.

I am very unhappy with this years Disney channel Halloween movie showings. I have looked forward to these movies every year since I was 7, and now you only show them at 3:00 a.m. In the morning…? That’s bs. Try again. Stop showing the crappy shows and give us the real stuff. Thanks

DISNEY CHANNEL IS SO AWFUL NOW. ALL OF THE ACTORS ARE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AND CANNOT ACT. They try too hard and Disney channel is not exciting to watch anymore. You are awful now Disney Channel. I always look forward to October for Halloween to watch Halloween town, twitches, as well as others and they come on at 3am? Who the hell is going to watch those. So many people enjoy those movies and you are playing other shows that aren’t even as good of entertainment. The actors you have are awful and I’m so disappointed. Thanks for ruining my Halloween.

This is the most disappointing year for Disney. Every year Halloweentown plays all four movies around the 7 o’clock and now it’s 3a.m. during the week. That is just terrible scheduling. No one care’s about TV shows that are Halloween themed instead of a movie. Worst decision ever. Way to ruin a tradition.

Agreed. For me Halloweentown is what set Disney apart from all the other channels. We wait all year for Halloweentown.

  • I am extremely disappointed in this years line up. Most of the movies come on at 3 in the morning and only air once. This season is all about movies for the kids IE the Halloweentown series. I get anxious to watch these movies with my family every year. This year that is not possible because of the horrible airing choices and tv shows that interrupt this wonderful time of year. I guess I will now be switching to ABC family

Unfortunately abc family isn’t much better. I’m sorry but batman and Matilda dont scream halloween. What happened to Mr. Boogedy and Disney’s sleepy hallow and the little vampire. Maybe even Hotel Transylvania.

I have been watching the Disney Channel for years and i always look forward to all the Halloween movies!! I am very disappointed that the shows are only airing one time and that they are all at like 3 in the morning. I have been looking forward to starting this tradition with my children and now I won’t be able to.

You can go to the Disney channel website and watch all of the older Halloween movies, in the link I have up there, it’s Halloweentown (my fave). Honestly, Freeform and Disney channel aren’t showing the older and better halloween movies that are meant for Halloween and it’s just sad and disappointing. At least in the Disney channel 2015 line up they had most of those old movies playing even if it was at 3 am in the morning.
