The explosion of cable TV networks culminated in all of the “Big 3” networks (HBO, Showtime, Cinemax) branching off from just one station into multiple stations with different movies and events. Launched on October 1, 1991 Showtime 2 was one of the first “sub stations “to take off and has been a popular movie choice ever since. With a mixture of old and new horror movies, Showtime 2’s horror film lineup is a favorite for the recent horror movies of the last 25 years.

During the month of January 2025 Showtime 2 has classic horror films such as Final Destination and Poltergeist, along with the 2025 horror series Dexter: Original Sin.
